Old meets New

This original Federation house with all its period features intact was extensively renovated and updated with a modern 2 story structure added to the back of the property.

Sitting on quite a steep site with no vehicular access to the rear, this provided many challenges in creating access for the machinery needed to remove 200m3 of sandstone in order to lower the footprint of the new addition and incorporate the high ceilings. There was also an addition of a new pool.

The entire timber floor structure of the original home was removed and replaced with heated concrete slabs which also runs through the new addition. We also added a loft room to the attic with an ensuite.

A very difficult project to construct but a very rewarding outcome.
Very much “old meets new“ with a distinctive transition between the two but a common palette of floors and colours to tie them together
