Bushland views
An original red brick home, Looking directly onto bushland towards Scott’s creek. The scope included making the house completely bushfire proof as sits directly onto a state forest flame zone.
The house is situated on a very steep site, 2 story at the front and 3 story at the rear. The clients were very keen on adding a pool but it came with some engineering and logistical difficulties given there was no vehicular access to the rear of the property.
The new concrete pool shell was cast half on the house rock shelf and half on 6 m high piers.
The final result with the infinity edge felt like it was a pool floating in the tree tops.
The existing house was fully gutted and with the use of structural steel posts and beams the rear elevation could then consist of nearly all glass doors over the 3 levels protected from bushfires with electric aluminium shutters.
The entry foyer has a 2 story void with a beautiful curved steel and glass staircase leading to a bridge that separates the master suite from the study and guest bedroom.
Another amazing project with great clients, Kim and Carrie, who did their white card construction safety course and administered the contract and building works directly with the builder.
